Не знам. По-вероятно е да е отбелязана така с цел да не се наруши облата форма на отбелязаната концентрация, отколкото да маркира реално местоположение.

Французите си настъпват в южен Елзас в първите дни на войната и вземат Мюлюз (Мюлхауз) на Рейн още на 8 август - срахотни тържества в Париж. Германците контраатакуват, но французите задържат малка част от Елзас до примирието - 1918.
