Bulgarian occupation of Thrace in 1913

    Hi all,
after the St.Stephen pact, the part of the ottoman empire which is now known as greek Thrace (between rivers Maritza and Mesta) was agreed to be ceased to Bulgaria. There was however un uprise of the citizens on August 1913 who proclaimed the territory indipendent but later were forced to surrender.
As far as I know this declaration of indipendence was without any major army conflict.
At a sketch though in a french newspaper of September 14, 1913, called the supplement of 'Le Petit Journal', there is a drawing of a battle between citizens of Komotini - Gumuldjina and the Bulgarian army who has been responsible for occupying the city. Has this incident ever happened or was it just the imagination of the artist? Are there bibliographical statements that can confirm this?

The Bulgarian version of the events is described in Bulgarian here:
We don't see things as they are, we see them as we are
